Knight Dental Design is a family-run “boutique” dental laboratory providing aesthetic technical solutions and marketing support to private dental practices nationwide. It was founded in 1982 and is the proud winner of an unprecedented 6x UK Dental Laboratory of the Year Awards.

The Lab has become renowned for the quality of its work and the natural appearance of the smiles it creates.

The laboratory is based in South London and employs a small specialist team of registered dental technicians. The laboratory works for a very selective number of discerning dentists in the UK, Ireland and Europe.

A pioneer of pressed ceramic and CAD-CAM technology, the laboratory continually integrates the latest technology with the traditional artistic skills of its artisan technicians to produce unique custom-made restorations and naturally beautiful smiles.

Many of our practices use our website daily to illustrate treatment options to their patients in their surgeries. We can also provide our practices with printed invitations for their patients to view our growing portfolio at home. Having seen what can be achieved in a similar case to their own many patients have been given the confidence to go ahead with complex or extensive treatments that have transformed their lives.

Our eventual aim is for all Knight partner practices to have contributed cases to our growing portfolio of excellence. To achieve this will demand not just great dentistry but great photography. Knight partner practices can benefit from free training in Macro and Portrait photography so that they can start to build their personal practice portfolio.

Partner practices are also welcome to a free marketing review to ensure that their patients become aware that they are an elite aesthetic practice achieving great results with the UK’s most awarded Laboratory. Finally practices benefit from three decades of our experience as we celebrate our 30th year in the art, craft and science of aesthetic dentistry.

We regularly upload new finished cases onto our website to allow patients to see for themselves the results we achieve with our partner practices. Very few other laboratories do this! The Team

Tony Knight (GDC Reg. No. 153008)

Tony trained as a dental technician at Guy’s Hospital and South London College. He qualified in 1979 and continued his studies, specialising in restorative and aesthetic dental technology. He was later awarded the Advanced Certificate in Crown and Bridgework. He continued to work at Guy’s and King’s College Hospitals London for a further 3 years before starting Knight Dental Design. Dorothy Knight

Dorothy’s background in personnel management for several large companies made her the ideal choice to head up the customer services and administration department. She has worked with Tony from the beginning and has one of the most recognised (and best restored!) smiles in the industry. She ensures the efficient operation of our nationwide logistics, deals with enquiries and is on first name terms with the majority of clients.

Our Quality Systems

We passionately believe in the need to inform patients of the real quality choices available to them. Sadly, many patients are unaware of the variation in quality across the dental market and many others have experienced poor restorations in the past. We regard it our duty to educate patients about the differences a high quality lab can make to their aesthetic and clinical results.

Our restorations are made in house at our London Laboratory by our small team of registered dental technicians. We are fully compliant with MDD and MDR regulations. We are members of DAMAS, The Dental Laboratories Association, The British Bite Mark, and The British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.

We do not outsource the production of our restorations overseas (some do!) as many oversea’s labs do not comply with stringent UK regulations.
